The King of Morocco
You may have noticed that I refrained from naming today’s subject, choosing only his formal title; The King of Morocco. A particularly thorny dilemma has presented itself early in the heroic, if a little childish task I have undertaken.
He is, in fact, King Mohammed VI of Morocco. Now, I know that the taboo regarding depictions of Mohammed probably doesn’t extend to his namesakes, of which there are many, but the Internet is a volatile place, prone to dangerous knee-jerk reactions. By the time it’s established which Mohammed I’m posting cartoons of, my head may have been impaled on a stake. Whilst I’m willing to suffer for my art,* it would also be wrong of me to deprive my readership of their pantographer so early in the compilation of what is sure to be an indispensable compendium of World Leaders in Their Underpants.
Admittedly, I could have avoided such difficulties by giving you Morocco’s other head of state, Prime Minister, Abbas El Fassi. To the best of my knowledge, you can draw all the El Fassis you like without incurring the wrath of anyone, fully clothed or otherwise.
But just look at the King of Morocco. He left me no choice. If misunderstandings ensue and I’m strung up like an indiscreet Dane, I hold you all responsible for egging me on. Please continue my work after I am gone. Thank you.
He joins the heads of state I’ve freely depicted in their underwear here.
*Not very much.
