Hubert Ingraham – Prime Minister of The Bahamas
Hubert Ingraham is the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, an archipelago comprised of several islands, rocks and diminutive low-lying scraps of land known as cays.
As a commonwealth nation, the official head of state is some elderly woman who lives in a draughty house in England. In her place, Sir Arthur Foulkes gets to carry out her queenly duties, unveiling memorials and dining correctly at tedious functions. Meanwhile, Hubert Ingraham takes care of the more managerial duties associated with a premiership, and here he is in his underpants.
Ingraham now joins the archipelago of World Leaders in Their Underpants, none of whom are islands entire of themselves. Each one of them is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away, my task in drawing them all will take that bit longer to complete.
