Dog’s Dinner with Iain and Hacker is a fast-paced game in which you play as either of the CBBC hosts as they race around the CBBC canteen serving celebrity customers.
CBBC’s brief to the game developers, Complete Control, was to make a restaurant-based game featuring Iain and Hacker, in which the celebrity characters could be easily updated. This was achieved without compromising the gameplay, making the game both dynamic and fun to play.
My role was to create the game concept and then to realise it together with one of Complete Control’s talented Actionscript developers. This involved designing the CBBC canteen, animating the characters, and writing appropriate nonsense for Iain and Hacker to shout at each other.
