Alex Salmond – First Minister of Scotland
Perhaps carelessly, I had an argument with a Glaswegian friend as to whether Scotland should be included in World Leaders in Their Underpants. It has not, after all, been an independent state since 1707 and is now a devolved government within the constitutional monarchy of the United Kingdom. In this regard, Alex Salmond does not qualify as a head of state. Yet.
To complicate matters further, when he whipped off his kilt for this portrait, we discovered he did not qualify as a World Leader in Underpants on other grounds besides his status on the world stage. If he has his way, he’ll be joining the other world leaders in their underpants very soon. But only if he’s properly dressed.
